As winter finally winds down, dads gear up to switch out their snow blowers for lawn mowers.
Now as impressive as a clear, black, ice free driveway might be amidst a snowy, white, winter wonderland, nothing is going to bring out the sense of man pride in a dad like a lawn.
However, as preparation for this year’s spring greening gets underway, what inspiration is there for the eager grass enthusiast? After all, isn’t a simple, big, green rectangle the summit of the whole lawn experience? Well, not today.
Here is a list of lawns straight out of fiction that were brought into real life, reminding you that a man’s home may be his castle, but his lawn is the gateway to his kingdom.
Wayne Manor
If, like Harvey Dent, you were thinking that this lawn looks too good to be in Gotham City, well you both have a point.
Gotham may be fictional, but much of the Dark Knight Rises was actually shot in places like Pittsburgh, PA and Newark, NJ. However, Wayne Manor isn’t even in America.
Batman’s crib is actually Wollaton Hall in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, England. The house itself overlooks a massive lawn that is usually reserved for concerts and outdoor events along with being the home to many local deer. I guess the Batcave sounds much better than the Deer Den. Either way, Alfred must have a long day trimming this grass every week.
