Shortly after making a $250 purchase of a power sander at the local hardware store, local dad Dennis Hay was overheard begging his two children to “not tell mom” about the transaction.
Hay, who originally was going to the store just to pick up some caulk, was captivated by the sander and immediately made the expensive purchase without first getting his wife’s permission, leading him to hope that his children would not bring it up to her.
This is not the first time Hay has made an impulsive purchase of this sort—just last month he was forced to return a new $400 leaf blower after his wife determined that the existing two-year-old blower was perfectly acceptable.
