Shortly after taking a few bites of a dish called “Jungle Curry” at a local Taiwanese restaurant, 26-year-old Richard Watson insisted to his friends that the extra spicy dish “wasn’t that bad,” as beads of sweat began to form on his forehead.
“No, it’s pretty good actually,” Watson panted as he clearly struggled to take another bite of the dish, which waiters warned him was not for the faint of heart.
“Yeah, if anything, it could use a little hot sauce,” Watson added, chugging this third glass of water while blinking back tears. He eventually asked the waiters for a glass of milk and some sugar packets, claiming he thought it would go well with the dish which he added was “just the right amount of spice.”
“I guess if you’re not used to spicy foods, I can see how this might be seen as intense,” he finally offered before launching into a violent coughing fit.
