Man Excited To Wear “Painting Jeans” For Home Repair Project

According to Ted Benson, “days like this are why I keep these puppies around.”

The 45-year-old was preparing to paint the hall bathroom when he dug through his closet and found his trusty painting jeans, a pair of 2002 Wranglers that haven’t been washed in over five years.

“The last thing I need is to worry about getting paint on my other pants,” he explained. “Yeah, so what I do is, I keep these babies around and just wear them anytime I’m dealing with paint. Maybe I’ll wear other work pants for touch-ups, but if the roller is coming out, so are my Wranglers.”

Invariably, Benson finds a reason to wear them outside the house on days he’s painting.

“He loves those damn pants,” said his wife Marci. “He’s so proud of them. I swear every time he puts them on, he suddenly realizes he needs to talk to the neighbor or go to Home Depot or something, just to show off that he’s doing a project. I once washed them back in ’08 and he kind of freaked out on me because half the paint splotches came off. He said they’re ‘badges of honor.'”
