As Imagine Dragons played a sold-out show at the TD Garden, Francis Johnson, a 56-year-old Boston resident, was spotted by many concertgoers as being weirdly excited to be the oldest guy at the show.
One 28-year-old concert goer who preferred to remain anonymous told reporters, “Yeah, I mean, I see him in line at the beer sort of looking around, like, clearly looking for people with gray hair to see if there’s anyone roughly his age there. But when all he saw were 20, 30, and 40-somethings, he got like, kind of psyched about it? I don’t know, that’s what it looked like at least.”
Johnson, who is known among his coworkers as “actually knowing a lot more about the current music scene than you’d expect, but like, seems a little too proud of that fact,” told reporters that while he did feel pretty “with it,” he likes it better when he catches relevant bands at smaller venues, like Brighton Music Hall.
