Local Dad “Generously” Tips 15% At Applebee’s

Citing an evening of “excellent” service, Andrew Sullivan, a 49-year-old father of three has decided to outdo himself by leaving his Applebee’s waitress a “very generous” 15% tip. Sullivan cited the waitress’ politeness, upbeat attitude, and the high quality of his mozzarella sticks appetizer as reasons for him giving a little extra at the end of the meal.

“Normally, I’m tipping about 12% on a bill. That’s what I grew up doing, and I don’t see any reason to change,” Sullivan explained. “Now, if I’m getting bad service, I’ll knock that down to 10%, no problem. But this waitress, I think her name was Janet, she really did go above and beyond, so it was a no-brainer to reach back into the wallet and reward her for her great work.”

The waitress, 19-year-old Janet Wallbach, could not be reached for comment, though she was overheard in the kitchen complaining about “the cheapo who barely tipped at table four.”
