Father’s Day got off to a rough start for Drew Pendleton, a 43-year-old from Cary, Texas, when all three of his sons purchased the exact same time as his Father’s Day gift.
The tie, an understated blue with yellow stripes, was apparently on sale at the neighborhood Kohl’s, leading each son to purchase one, independently, with the assumption that their gift would be well-received.
“I didn’t know what to get him,” confessed Caleb, his 13-year-old middle child. “But I thought the tie could be nice, since dad has to wear a tie to work most of the time. I guess I should have run it by my brothers first.”
This is not the first time the Pendleton family has made a similar mistake, most notably on Father’s Day in 2015 when all three sons purchased the same “World’s Best Dad” mug.
