Shortly after she asked her husband to stop by Costco to pick up paper towels, Margaret Benson of suburban Chicago began to panic.
“This was a mistake. He’s been gone way too long,” she muttered to herself before texting her husband John. “I knew I should have gone myself.”
Moments later, John sent back a picture of three giant jugs of ranch dressing along with the caption “great deal!”
Margaret tried to call him back, but it went to voicemail. Upon further inspection of the photo he sent, Margaret noticed the corner of what looked like a six-pack of motor oil.
“I really have nobody to blame but myself,” she said. “Maybe if I call the credit card company, I can put a hold on our account before he makes it to checkout.”
