While cooking up bratwursts for a small neighborhood barbecue, neighboring dads Chris Phillips and Matt Saunders decided to man the grill while their families waited for their food.
They briefly talked about the current baseball season and the NBA playoffs, but the primary topic of conversation centered around indirect heat, which they discussed for roughly 30 minutes.
“Oh yeah, me and Matt had a great conversation,” Phillips said when asked about their talk. “Though let’s just say we have completely different opinions about what kind of heat you should be cooking a bratwurst with, let me tell you.”
