With temperatures for the past few weeks steadily in 90-degree territory, Schaumburg, Illinois father of two Fred Richardson has decided that, instead of “burning through money” by running his home’s central air conditioning unit, he would simply go shirtless.
“Listen, it’s not too hot really, not if you got a few fans going, and lose the shirt,” Richardson told his family, who have so far refused to follow his example, and are desperate for air conditioning.
With reports that this weekend will bring temperatures of nearly 100 degrees to the area, Richardson has begrudgingly agreed to turn on the air conditioning for a few hours just to “take the edge off a bit.”
