Local dad and Christmas light purchaser David Streamland has shocked neighbors and economists alike by managing to only spend $500 to prepare his Christmas light display for the year.
Streamland, who has spent upwards of three times that amount in previous years, claims that by re-using old lights, and not decorating parts of the house not visible to the street, he has managed to drastically cut his budget.
“I know it sounds impossible, to only spend half a grand on Christmas lights for the whole holiday season, but I found that if you really plan, you can still have an enviable display for a fraction of the price,” Streamland told reporters.
Even more shocking than the price of his lights is Streamland’s anticipated electric bill for December, which he claims should barely crack $400.
