Unable to decide between two different grills during a recent visit to The Home Depot, 48-year-old John Benson ended up buying both, bringing his total number of backyard grills to four.
“I already had a Traeger and a Kamado Joe, so I had pellet and charcoal covered,” he said. “But to really complete the set, I needed to add a propane grill into the mix. The only problem? I couldn’t decide between a Nexgrill and a Weber.”
According to Benson, he told his wife he’d be adding to his grill collection this summer, but he “did not specify how many.”
“That’s the key thing right there,” he said. “We had an agreement that I could ‘update the collection’ every odd-numbered year, but you’ll notice with my wording I gave myself a nice out there. Plus, with free assembly, I was using both of them at home in like less than an hour.”
Benson, who tries to stay out of the charcoal versus gas debate, said he can now grill in peace no matter which friends come over.
“The charcoal purists? The gas crew? Doesn’t matter! I can satisfy everyone. And I’m pretty sure once Nancy gets a taste of the burgers I cooked on this new Nexgrill or the BBQ chicken from the Weber, she’ll see the benefits of having a well-rounded grill ensemble.”
