Now that Christmas has come and gone, local man Jeremy Sanders, 36, is currently figuring out when, exactly, he should throw away his tree. Sanders, who purchases a tree for his house in late November, is still not entirely sure on the proper rules of tree disposal, and has found conflicting advice from internet searches.
“Some people say you should just toss the tree right after Christmas, while others seem to say that you should wait until January 6th, while others say you should just play it by ear depending on when the tree gets dry. So I’m pretty confused. When should I toss this tree?” Sanders asked, while looking out to the street to see if any neighbors have tossed their own trees yet.
While Sanders decides when he can get rid of his Christmas tree, he’s pretty confident that enough time has passed since Halloween to throw away his carved (and now rotting) pumpkins.
