History was made by local dad Christopher Meckert when the father of three set a new record by logging seven full hours of naps during this year’s Thanksgiving festivities. Meckert, whose previous personal best was five hours of napping during Father’s Day in 2015, set the record thanks in part to his indifference towards the scheduled NFL games, an earlier-than-usual dinner time, and the copious amounts of turkey and beer he consumed during the meal.
Meckert greeted reporters after he accomplishing the feat, saying, “You know what, I mean, obviously this feels great, but it’s not just about me. This was a team effort. I’d like to thank my wife, who helped get me full enough to make this nap possible. Also, my wife, who looked after the kids and basically handled everything in the house while I slept. And also, I guess I should thank my wife one more time for good measure, as she’s pretty annoyed that I just spent seven hours napping while she was cleaning up after dinner.”
The napping legend has said that he will try to improve on his record, possibly as soon as this upcoming Christmas.
