A recent investigation into fatherly fashion trends has uncovered a shocking statistic: 96% of America’s dads received the memo regarding blue jeans and white sneakers as the optimal clothing combination.
“What’s most surprising is that memos are very difficult to distribute. If it was an email, sure. But we’re talking about getting a printed piece of paper to millions of dads across the country,” said researcher Bob Benson. “It’s just not something you see anymore. At the same time, they all must have got the memo, based on the fashion choices we’re seeing.”
The memo, entitled “The Benefits Of Blue Jeans And Crisp White Sneakers,” must have been read by dads from all walks of life, as the vast majority of fathers are adhering to the rule.
“Maybe a really tech savvy dad scanned it, then forwarded it via email to a network of dads,” said Benson. “We all know dads love to forward emails, so that could’ve been one mode of distribution. The question now is: who are these 4% of men wearing slacks with their white sneakers or, conversely, choosing to wear non-white shoes with their blue jeans. It’s quite a conundrum.”
