Despite not having completed his chores yet for this week, 12-year-old Bobby Benson recently asked his dad for next week’s payment in advance.
“Look, that new megashark movie is coming out and all my friends are going to see it,” explained the 7th grader to his father. “I wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t important. I’ll totally clean the gutters in addition to my normal chores next week.”
Adding that he was “good for it,” the younger Benson quickly transitioned into an angrier argument, complaining that his friend down the street got “like $40 a week in allowance!”
“Oh sure, Frank pays his son $40 a week to take out the trash,” Benson’s father Frank said. “And I was born yesterday, too.”
