Dad Decides Best Way To Honor America On July 4th Is To Mow Lawn Again

Local father of two Jonathan Rikers has announced he has determined the best way to celebrate America on the Fourth of July—by mowing his lawn again. Rikers, who has mowed the lawn once already this week, felt that a July 4th mowing would be in order to, in his own words, really “give America its due.”

“I mean, I’ll be grilling, and we’ll see some fireworks, but I think the best way to really get in the Fourth of July spirit is to give the lawn a once-over,” Rikers clarified, adding, “Besides, the stripe lines on the lawn end up kind of reminding me of the American flag, so that’s legitimate, right?”

When asked if he plans to drink beer while mowing lawn, Rikers laughed and said, “Of course. It’s America’s birthday, after all.”
