It was going to be a normal day for local dad Brent Benson. Then he spotted a leaky pipe under the sink in the upstairs bathroom, and that changed everything.
“Oh it’s on now,” Benson muttered to himself as he immediately went to the garage to fetch his tools.
Benson’s family has seen this before.
“It’s like, anytime he decides to fix something in the house, it turns into a fight,” said his teen daughter. “He gets all weird and angry at the thing. Last week he spent two hours yelling at a loose ceiling fan in my room as he tried to fix it. Eventually he said ‘he won’ but I swear the fan still makes noise.”
According to Benson’s wife Jane, he has almost defeated the leaky pipe.
“Sure, we were supposed to have lunch with the Taylors today, but I’ve found it’s just easier to let him indulge these weird repair fantasies than have him spend an entire meal telling us all how he plans to fix the sink or whatever,” she said. “I just hope he doesn’t have a go at the air conditioner tomorrow. We’re supposed to go to a movie.”
