It’s been 14 full days since the check engine light illuminated on the dash of his 2011 Honda Accord, but local teen Mark Ramirez still hasn’t done anything about it.
“It looks kind of like a room map from an old video game or something,” he said. “Like, see those are the doors on the top and sides. Anyway, I have no idea what it means.”
Despite not knowing what the light was indicating, Ramirez didn’t feel compelled to check the manual or ask either of his parents about it. The 17-year-old simply kept driving the vehicle, unaware that his engine needed servicing.
“I mean, I changed the oil last year, so I know that can’t be it,” he said. “Maybe my speakers need to be checked out.”
