As reported by his exasperated 16-year-old son Jeremy, 47-year-old dad Bill Weathers, as of 1:45 PM today, has already sent a fifth email out to all of his contacts with a subject line reading “Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Check This Out.” While the subject line has been the same in all instances, each email has been to a different link about a different subject.
“Like this one, it’s just a link to a YouTube video of Jimmy Fallon giving a random opening monologue for the Tonight Show,” Jeremy told reporters. “He didn’t even say why he was sending it, it was just the email and the link. I keep thinking it’s a virus or something until I realize that it’s just my dad’s inability to understand how emails work.”
Among the other “hilarious!” emails Weathers has sent out was a poorly formatted copy-and-paste of a joke about a traffic stop that seems to be from a 10-year-old email string, a clearly photoshopped picture of a balding Brad Pitt, and two links that Chrome deemed “unsafe” and refused to open.
Weathers’ previous record of most “Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Check This Out” emails sent in a day was six, set a year ago, a record which Weathers is currently on pace to demolish. When asked for his final thoughts on the matter, his son Jeremy simply said, “I mean, how does he have time to send all these emails? Doesn’t he work?”
