35-year-old Gary Ronson has announced this year that he is “pretty sure” he knows the first six words to the Christmas song “Silent Night.”
Ronson, who said he spent the past month going over the lyrics to really nail the opening of the classic carol, even went as far as to sing the first few bars, clearly stating, “Silent night, holy night, all is…” before trailing away into a series of humming and mumbling.
“See? Bet you didn’t think I could remember that much of the song,” Ronson beamed, adding that he also is able to sing the first part of Jingle Bells almost exactly right before he gets lost in the “dashing through the snow” part of the song.
Ronson’s goal for next holiday season is to try to memorize eight words of Silent Night, though he admits that would be a pretty tall order.
