After years of only leaving his upper lip unshaven on any given day, 38-year-old Portland, Maine resident Richard Bresslin has decided to upgrade from a mustache to a full-on beard. Bresslin, who has made the fashion choice of growing and maintaining a mustache since freshman year of college, told reporters that while the decision was a difficult one, he ultimately thinks it’ll “look better” at the end of the day.
“Listen, it’s not easy to just abandon a mustache after almost twenty years, but beards are just more fashionable nowadays, and honestly I was getting sick of getting various ‘tickler’ this or ‘tickler’ that jokes about the mustache. Change is hard, but in this case I think it’s the right move.”
Bresslin’s wife applauded the decision, saying, “Honestly, I’m happy with a beard or him shaving. The mustache was just always kind of weird to me.”
